Artwork Requirements

At Modern Promotions we make certain that your logo/artwork looks it’s best on your promotional product. This is why when you submit your logo/artwork our Art Department will review it and make sure it meets the necessary requirements for a great looking imprint.

Once your logo/artwork has been given the “ok”, our in-house art department will prepare artwork proofs for your approval prior to production of your order. This allows you to see exactly how the finished product will look when imprinted with your logo. We will never proceed with the production of your order until you have given us permission by signing off on the Artwork Approval Form.

In order for us to imprint your logo onto the promotional product you have selected, we require you to provide us with your logo as a computer generated file. If you are unable to provide a file in the correct format we also offer a re-drawing service, for a fee, to convert your artwork or file into the correct format.

Outlined Vector Files (.AI or .EPS)

EPS or AI files are True Vector files, and work best for most products. Adobe Illustrator is our recommended program for creating, editing and exporting vector art.

Vector files are used for most branding methods including:

  • Screen Printing

  • Pad Printing

  • Laser Engraving

When using Illustrator files, please remember to convert all fonts to outlines or curves. Alternatively, if fonts are not outlined please make sure you supply the font file with your art work. It is important to note that once text is converted to paths it can no longer be edited as text - if changes to the text are required you will need to supply the font file to us, or edit the file yourself before submitting it. If art work is submitted in CMYK colours (Process) please nominate the required Pantone colour (Spot Colour/PMS) for best colour matching.

Picture Images (.PSD .JPG .TIFF or .PNG)

Picture image file are only acceptable for full colour process printing, sublimation and embroidery, Some examples of items that use these processes are:

  • Banners

  • Tablecloths

  • Mousemats

  • Sublimated mugs

  • Stubby coolers

When using picture files it is important to remember that the print quality will only be as good as the file provided. Please provide us with high resolution artwork for the best results, we recommend a minimum of 300dpi with artwork at 100% of the actual print size.

If you are unsure about your art file, or if you only have a picture file but require an outlined vector file, please contact us to ask about our art re-drawing service. We can accept files submitted via email or in person (on USB, CD etc.) and convert them to the correct file type required for a small fee. If you are having trouble sending larger files due to size limits on email servers, we recommend using a free file transfer service such as Hightail or Dropbox
